Step Up for the M.A.
Your chance to stride into the New Year with our Step Up for the M.A. challenge
Are you aiming to get fitter and more active this New Year? Why not get started by increasing your daily step count while supporting the Miscarriage Association?
Step Up for the M.A. challenges you to complete 250,000 steps throughout January – the same as the number of pregnancies that are estimated to end in miscarriage in the UK each year.
Miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy and molar pregnancy can be distressing at any time. But we know many have found the last year especially difficult, with limited access to some services and partners often being unable to attend for scans. Feelings of isolation and loneliness have understandably been magnified by not being able to see family and friends.
The M.A. has been – and continues to be – there to help people through.
Throughout 2020, we have supported thousands of people through our helpline and our online support services.
Demand has significantly increased – and yet, like many charities, we have seen our fundraising income drop over the past 10 months, particularly due to the cancellation of major events.
By Stepping Up for the M.A., you can help us raise funds to continue our work throughout this crisis and beyond.
To join the Step Up team, all you need to do is simply pledge to complete 250,000 steps in January and ask your friends, family or colleagues to sponsor your efforts!
It’s up to you how you complete your step count – you can choose to do an equal number each day (that’s 8,065 steps or 3.8 miles a day!), or you can tick off longer distances on the weekend if that suits you better.
And, the good news is that every step counts! Doing household jobs, going to the shops and walking the dog all add up. And don’t worry if you join a little late – there’s plenty of time to catch up.
To take part, you’ll need to create your fundraising page here. Be sure to attach it to the overall Step Up the M.A. campaign so we can see how you’re all doing. You can do this by scrolling to the bottom of the Virgin Money Giving campaign page and clicking the “Start Fundraising” button.
If you need a sponsor form for offline donations or a paper step logging sheet, they can be found below:
