Russell took part in the virtual Royal Parks Half Marathon
Due to the cancellation of the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October 2020, Russell decided to take part in the virtual version of the event in April 2021 dressed in an animal onesie to raise funds for the M.A..

Myself and my wife had been trying for a baby for a long time, having fertility issues, our next recourse was IVF. Unfortunately, both pregnancies resulted in a miscarriage. These both coincided with lockdowns in 2020 and meant I was not able to be there to support Em as much as I’d like and no family were able to support, making this horrific experience all the harder. For us, our next route is adoption, but I wanted to run to get something positive out of this tough time in our lives. We had counselling during our IVF and it helped immensely with what we went through. I don’t think we’d have come through it in the shape we did without it.
