Katrina’s fundraising story: Miles That Matter 2025
Katrina took on her second MTM walk in memory of her four babies lost, this time joined by her son Harry. Together, they walked 168 miles across Yorkshire, turning a time of reflection into one of hope, healing, and advocacy for others affected by pregnancy loss.
Both challenges have been far more than just a walk. They’ve opened up so many important conversations about pregnancy loss and created space for others to share their own experiences with me in confidence.
This is my second MTM walk, after first completing it in June 2023. At that time, we were just starting to pick ourselves back up after suffering our fourth loss, and the challenge really helped my physical and mental recovery. I’ve included the link to my 2023 JustGiving page, which explains a bit more about our story at that point in time: Katrina’s 2023 Miles That Matter fundraiser
Fast forward two years, and we’re in a very different and fortunate position. We had our son Harry last October, and I was motivated to spend our last full month together before returning to work doing something special. So we completed the challenge this year as a team – but quadrupled the target, in recognition of the four babies we never got to meet but love just as much as we do Harry.
Harry and I walked 168 miles across June, averaging six a day, all over Yorkshire. Adam joined us when he could and has been our biggest cheerleader throughout.

Both challenges have been far more than just a walk. They’ve been time to think, reflect, spend time with loved ones, and get a good dose of endorphins. They’ve also opened up so many important conversations about pregnancy loss and created space for others to share their own experiences with me in confidence.
We continue to be huge advocates and supporters of the Miscarriage Association. Keep up the amazing work you all do, your resources have been invaluable to us when we needed them most.
A big thank you to the lovely Catherine again – the very best chance encounter up a random hill in Skipton Woods!
