My identical twins stopped developing at 8 weeks
Chloe (19) writes about how her identical twin pregnancy stopped developing.
I eventually had an internal scan she spent ages trying to find a baby and then she asked “are you sure you’ve got your dates right?” I was 100% sure.
I found out I was pregnant just after my boyfriend and I split up.
It was 12 days after my 19th birthday I had found out I was pregnant. I didn’t suspect it at all my period was 4 days late I had a bit of dull back ache and just thought I had a UTI. My boyfriend and I had split up the day before so I sent him a picture of my test on WhatsApp. We managed to get back together over the next few days.
I had period pains constantly
So my pregnancy progressed no sickness at all no symptoms really just a very heavy feeling in my pelvis and bad back ache and period pains constantly. At 8 weeks pregnant I decided to visit my GP and tell her how I’d been feeling she sent me to the early pregnancy unit for an assessment it was their I eventually had an internal scan she spent ages trying to find a baby and then she asked “are you sure you’ve got your dates right” I was 100% sure.
My identical twins had stopped developing
She explained that my pregnancy was an identical twin pregnancy which stopped developing. So I was spoken through my options and decided to opt for a ERPC. It was on October 31st 2014 I went through with this given support by my boyfriend and family.
I can’t help worrying about my current pregnancy
I am now 15 weeks pregnant with one baby. And so far it’s all healthy! This pregnancy has been extremely difficult to accept come to terms with and not worry about. My 12 week scan was difficult not knowing if there was a baby or not. It’s still very hard now I am still so emotionally upset from my missed miscarriage.
