Juliet Buchanan

I am a person-centred counsellor, working in private practice for over six years. I have worked with a wide range of presenting issues. I use a compassionate and empathetic approach to support individuals through some of life’s most challenging moments. I am experienced in offering counselling sessions face-to-face, online and by telephone.

In addition to my private practice, I have volunteered with Cruse Bereavement Care for 8 years. This role has enriched my skills in grief counselling, particularly around loss and trauma. This has allowed me the opportunity to work with diverse populations facing complex emotional challenges, including miscarriage, stillbirth and child loss.

I work on both short-term and long-term with clients. Using the 6-session model for Cruse and EAP clients, as well as offering longer-term support in private practice.

I regularly partake in continuing professional development to stay informed and effective. Last year, I completed The Foundation for Infant Loss Training’s ‘Pregnancy and Infant Loss and Infertility Training’. This deepened my understanding of the unique challenges faced by those experiencing pregnancy loss. Other recent CPD includes: Self-harm awareness, Bereaved by suicide, Trans awareness, Sudden and traumatic death, Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and Substance abuse.
