Fiona Christiansen

My own experiences of miscarriage and need for sensitive, supportive aftercare led me to undertake voluntary telephone peer support work with The Miscarriage Association for over 10 years.
I was presented with an Outstanding Contribution award for this work in 2008, and still feel passionately about supporting those impacted by baby loss.
After returning to university to study counselling, I am now a qualified person-centred counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. My experience has repeatedly shown me how supportive, empathic connection can prove invaluable during times of bereavement, loss and uncertainty. Many different feelings and issues can arise and can feel overwhelming. Through non-directive talking therapy, I will provide an opportunity for you to safely explore and express your emotions. Having the time and space to speak about these in confidence can be very beneficial. Together we can gain a greater insight and understanding of your experiences at a pace that suits you.
My warm, caring and compassionate approach acknowledges the uniqueness of each individual I work with.
I have undertaken specialist bereavement training, including SANDS training for bereaved parents.
