Miscarriage Association announces Sarah Owen MP as latest ambassador
4th September 2025

We are delighted to announce that Sarah Owen MP has become an official ambassador for the Miscarriage Association.
Sarah has been a powerful and consistent advocate for those affected by pregnancy loss, both in Parliament and beyond. As Chair of the Women and Equalities Committee (WEC), she played a pivotal role in our recent campaign to ensure that pre-24-week pregnancy loss is formally recognised in bereavement leave legislation, a landmark step in acknowledging this type of loss as a bereavement like any other.
Sarah has worked closely with the Miscarriage Association in her role as Chair of the WEC, particularly during the Committee’s inquiry into pregnancy loss and bereavement leave. Her leadership was instrumental in producing a hard-hitting and influential report that brought national attention to the need for policy change. Throughout the process, she championed the voices of our lived experience community and helped ensure their perspectives were at the heart of the Committee’s recommendations.
Sarah Owen MP said:
“I’m honoured to become an ambassador for the Miscarriage Association. Their work is vital, not only in offering support to individuals and families, but also in changing the way pregnancy loss is understood in society, workplaces, and policy. Having been grateful for the support and information provided by Miscarriage Association during my own losses, I’m personally and professionally proud to continue supporting their efforts to ensure no one faces pregnancy loss without understanding, care, and proper recognition.”
Vicki Robinson, Chief Executive of the Miscarriage Association, said:
“Sarah’s advocacy has had a real and lasting impact. Her compassion, leadership and determination were instrumental in driving forward our Leave for Every Loss campaign, and we’re delighted to welcome her as an official ambassador. We look forward to continuing our work together to improve awareness, understanding and care around pregnancy loss.”
The Miscarriage Association is incredibly grateful to Sarah for her ongoing support, not only as the Leave for Every Loss campaign develops, but also in our wider mission to ensure that everyone affected by pregnancy loss receives the compassion, recognition and support they deserve.
