Miscarriage Association announces Dr Jessica Farren as latest Trustee
25th June 2025

We’re pleased to welcome Dr Jessica Farren to the Miscarriage Association’s Board of Trustees.
Jessica is a Consultant Gynaecologist at University College London Hospital, where she specialises in early pregnancy care. She is also a committee member of the Association of Early Pregnancy Units, a national body committed to improving early pregnancy standards.
Jessica’s clinical work is grounded not only in science, but in empathy. A combination that has shaped not just how she supports her patients, but also her dedication to improving miscarriage care beyond the hospital setting.
Jessica’s PhD focused on the psychological impact of pregnancy loss, identifying high levels of anxiety and post-traumatic stress following those affected by miscarriage. These findings have been widely published and continue to influence miscarriage care policy in the UK and beyond.
Alongside her research and clinical practice, Jessica regularly lectures in workplaces through the organisation ‘This Is Womanhood’ advocating for a proactive approach to women’s care and more inclusive, compassionate policies.
Jessica, said:
“It is a privilege to contribute to the vital work of the Miscarriage Association as a Trustee, and to help ensure that those affected by pregnancy loss receive the support they deserve.”
Miscarriage Association Chief Executive, Vicki Robinson, said:
“At a time where miscarriage care is finally gaining more attention in public and policy discussions, we’re truly thrilled to have Jessica on our Board of Trustees. Her research, advocacy, and lived experience will undoubtably shape the way we support those affected by pregnancy loss.
“With a long-standing relationship with the Miscarriage Association, Jessica has recommended our support services to countless patients, as well as co-facilitating one of our support groups.”
