Meet Our New CEO

4th April 2024

The Miscarriage Association is pleased to welcome Vicki Robinson as our new Chief Executive Officer.

Vicki has taken up this new role following four successful years working as our Deputy Director. She will be responsible for leading the M.A. as it starts a new chapter in its 40-year history.

Prior to joining the M.A. in 2020, she headed up the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, refocussing the charity from a grant-giving organisation to direct service delivery. This included establishing a psychological support service for bereaved children aged 11 and under and a training programme for oncology physiotherapists.

Vicki previously worked in charity communications for six years and before that was a journalist and news editor for almost two decades.

The role of chief executive is a new one for the M.A. and has been created following the retirement of our long-serving National Director, Ruth Bender Atik.

Vicki is now looking to build upon the M.A.’s many achievements to date, working with our talented and dedicated team to make a difference to all those affected by the heartbreak of pregnancy loss.

Speaking about her new role, she said: “It is an honour to be trusted with the reins of such a special charity.

“I’m looking forward to working with the fantastic M.A. team to grow the organisation so we can support even more people at what can be one of the worst times of their lives.

“A key focus will be ensuring we are a strong voice for all of those affected, continuing to break down the stigma around pregnancy loss and to advocate for better care, treatment and acknowledgement in all parts of society.

“And I’m also keen to hear more from our stakeholders, beneficiaries, supporters and partners – together we can make a genuine difference to all those who endure the agony of losing a baby in pregnancy.”

Amy Braier, Miscarriage Association Chair of Trustees, said: “The trustees are delighted to have appointed Vicki as CEO.

“Pregnancy loss is shockingly common but too many people are still not getting the care and support that they need.

“We are inspired by Vicki’s vision to extend the M.A.’s reach so that we can support and educate more people. We look forward to working alongside her and the staff team to achieve this.”
