Baby Loss Awareness Week 2025: A time to remember and raise awareness

8th October 2025

Baby loss awareness week 2025

For many, Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October) is first and foremost a time of remembrance, a chance to honour the little lives lost too soon and to connect with others who understand. It’s a space to reflect, to come together as a community, and to know you are not alone.

But it’s also an important moment for us as a charity. Baby Loss Awareness Week gives us the opportunity to share the heart of what we do at the Miscarriage Association.

From offering our support services, raising awareness of how deeply pregnancy loss can impact lives, and campaigning for more better care, awareness and compassion in workplaces, healthcare, and society as a whole

The awareness this week creates helps more people find the support they need, encourages conversations about the reality of pregnancy loss and strengthens our voice when we advocate for change — ensuring that everyone affected is recognised, respected and met with empathy.

Ways you can get involved

  • Join our Memory Walk fundraiser – Take part in our 4-mile remembrance walk at 4pm on Sunday 12 October, wherever you are. Walk in memory, share your photos and feel part of a wider community united in remembrance. Find out more and sign up here.
  • Attend our in-person Remembrance Event – Join us at Holy Trinity Church, Leeds on Wednesday 15 October at 6.30pm for a special service of reflection and candle-lighting. Free to attend, but booking is required.
  • Join the global Wave of Light – Light a candle at 7pm on 15 October and share your photo using #WaveOfLight to take part in the worldwide wave of remembrance.
You can also join our Online Wave of Light at 7pm, where we’ll light candles together, read aloud names and special details, and close with a poem of remembrance. Book your online place here.
  • Light up the UK pink and blue – Landmarks across the country will shine pink and blue in remembrance. You could join in from home by creating your own light display!
  • Other local and online remembrance events will be taking place across the UK and beyond. Find more events on the Baby Loss Awareness website here.

A gentle reminder

We know this week can feel emotional and overwhelming. Please remember that if you don’t feel able to take part, that’s completely okay. Our support services are always here if you need someone to talk to or information to help you through.
