Support, companionship and information were all to be found at The M.A.'s recent Members' Day.

“Tea and talk”
It was lovely to meet all those M.A. members who came to this year’s Members’ Day and AGM. It’s always good to put faces to names and, as always, it was an opportunity for people to share experiences and ideas in a safe and welcoming environment.
Evaluations were very positive – here are some of the comments that people made:
About our expert speaker, Dr Jo Marsden-Williams:
Great – very informative, at a good level of understanding for audience.
Interesting slides very well presented with warmth, enthusiasm and an understanding attitude.
Good to have audience involvement at the beginning.
Very informative and concise. Felt she was genuinely interested in comments from the floor.
About the discussion groups:
I realised that people went through what I went through when I lost my baby.
Lots of interesting points raised by others and lots to think about. Lots of discussion.
Very helpful to use other people as a sounding board. Very nice to know other people are going through the same thing and you’re not alone.
Very interesting listening to the men and understanding how my husband felt after we lost our baby.
About our balloon release in memory of babies lost in pregnancy:
I found the balloon release really moving. I felt that a lot of people had comfort from this part of the day.
Lovely speech and poem by Sarah. Very emotional. Balloons were very symbolic of babies’ lives lost.
Lovely idea! Quite emotional and a time for quiet reflection.
We asked people what they enjoyed most about the day. Here's what some of them said:
Meeting people with similar experiences.
Meeting other members, sharing experiences.
Everything – meeting people who have experienced miscarriage and being able to talk about it comfortably.
The opportunity to meet others in the same situation as me and discuss my miscarriages and worries about future pregnancies in a safe and welcoming environment.
